Merging Companies and Contacts

You may occasionally wish to merge two existing contacts or companies in Spiro. Before you merge contacts or companies, it's important to understand what happens when two records are merged.

What happens when I merge two contacts?

• The contact record that you originally clicked Merge on will be merged into the master contact you selected during the merge process.
• The resulting contact record will use the attributes from the selected master contact.
• The timeline activity and related records (opportunities, reminders, notes, custom entities, and campaigns) for both contact records will be presented in the new record.

What happens when I merge two companies?

• The company record that you originally clicked Merge Contact on will be merged into the master contact you selected during the merge process.
• The resulting company record will use the attributes from the selected master company.
• The timeline activity and related records (contacts, opportunities, reminders, notes, custom entities, and campaigns) for both company records will be presented in the new record.

Can I un-merge contacts or companies?

It is not possible to un-merge contacts.

Merging Contacts

• Navigate to the duplicate contact you wish to merge into the master contact record
• Click More in the top right hand corner or the contact record and choose Merge Contact from the dropdown menu
• In the search box on the right hand side of the popup, search for the master contact that you wish to merge the duplicate contact with and click merge to complete the action. This could take up to one minute.
• You will be redirected to the master contact record

Merging Companies

• Navigate to the duplicate company you wish to merge into the master company record
• Click More in the top right hand corner or the company record and choose Merge Company from the dropdown menu
• In the search box on the right hand side of the popup, search for the master company that you wish to merge the duplicate company with and click merge to complete the action. This could take up to one minute
• You will be redirected to the master company record
